yarnpainting

a journey into the art of the people

I specialize in the art of yarnpainting, a technique rooted in the rich cultural heritage of the Wixarika from northwestern Mexico.

This community holds a profound belief that everything in existence is sacred.

Yarnpainting is a meditative process. It begins with applying a thin layer of bee wax to the object that will serve as the canvas. Then, coloured threads are carefully pressed onto the waxed surface, creating intricate patterns that reflect the artist's vision.

This process requires immense patience and dedication, with each piece taking hours, weeks, or even months to complete, depending on its size and level of detail, for me yarnpainting it is a way to connect and share my story.

amulet of the earth

the heart of the blue deer

Crafted with 122 stitches. Designed to be filled with your personal intentions and worn close to your heart to amplify its vibration.

Each amulet carries a piece of nature inside like, sand, stones, earth, herbs and flowers from rivers, lakes and mountains in the Swiss Alps as well as caresses and blessings  from powerful places like jungles, forests, woods, caves, volcanoes and deserts across the globe.

The journey of creating the Amulet of the Earth began with my first cross-stitch project, featuring the symbol of the Peyote a sacred plant used in ceremony.  After months of dedication, on the night I completed it, I dreamt of the blue deer, who spoke to me and said:

"Take a petal of this peyote flower as a reminder of my heart, to guide you towards the path of  a good living"
